DWS Associates Limited begins new chapter as Glic

DWS Associates, the Argyll and Bute consultancy specialising in business, community and economic development announced its rebrand today, 17 April.

Founded in 2019 by David Smart, DWS Associates was originally established to provide consultancy for businesses in the Scottish Highlands and west coast. Since then, it has grown into a thriving business working with the public, private and third sectors across the UK and Europe.

The company has now rebranded to reflect their growth internally and in the sector. The identity make-over sees the launch of  a new name in Glic, as well as a new brand and website, with revived and fresh colours that reflect the personable team behind the business.

Meaning wise, smart and intelligent in Scottish Gaelic, Glic reflects the origins and strengths of the former DWS Associates. It demonstrates the team’s pride in their Scottish roots and confidence in providing valued expertise, as well as a desire to develop impact on a national and global level.

/ gliçgʲ / adj.

1 wise, sage, prudent

2 smart

3 intelligent

The rebrand also launches Glic’s newly-defined vision and values that both reflect the work for which DWS has gained its reputation over the last four years and the standards that Glic will continue to hold itself to going forward.

With priorities that centre around impactcare and people, the values are a benchmark for Glic’s work internally with colleagues and employees and externally with the clients and communities being served.

The Glic team worked with Stuart Platt of Glasgow-based graphic design studio Haiwyre to develop the new identity and website.

On the launch of the company’s new identity, senior consultant Alice Masson said:

‘The organisation has grown exponentially over the past four years, and as it has grown it has become clearer what the organisation can offer to the marketplace. Glic now reflects this change and clarity. We are delighted to share this news and excited to see how Glic will grow going forward.’
