Glic’s senior consultant Alice Masson has been appointed to the Board of Economic Development Association Scotland (EDAS).
She is one of three new directors joining the Board chaired by Neil McInroy, Global Lead for Community Wealth Building at The Democracy Collaborative.
As a director she will support EDAS in the development and delivery of its next three-year strategy as the 2021-24 strategy comes to a close and the organisation works to extend its network across the country.
Alice joins the Board alongside two other new directors, community enterprise expert Martin Avila and Highlands and Islands Enterprise executive Elaine Jamieson.
EDAS is led by 15 directors who are responsible for strategic direction and operational and financial management. The organisation supports and represents those working in and contributing to economic development in Scotland, and delivers learning opportunities, policy briefings and events in the sector.
Alice joined Glic in 2021 following a Master’s degree at Strathclyde Business School and an early career in the tourism and heritage sectors. Glic gained EDAS membership in May 2023.
On the commencement of her post, Alice said:
“I am honoured to join EDAS on their Board and have the opportunity to work and collaborate with fellow members.
“EDAS is an organisation integral to strengthening Scotland’s economy and growth, and I am joining a host of people I admire and respect massively. I look forward to working alongside them in the coming term.
“I am eager to bring my experiences working at a community level along with my passion for youth involvement to promoting and developing economic development in Scotland.”
